Your biggest obligation
as a member of BMDWCA is to ensure that all of your plumbing is functioning
properly and has no leaks whatsoever.
Remember, because of our limited production capability, a leaking
toilet can quickly drain the water system, leaving you and your fellow
members without water.
When you are going to be
absent from your home/cabin for a significant time (e.g., 2 weeks), you
should turn off the water at the input “stop-and-waste” valve. Be sure to turn off your water
heater as well, since it could be damaged if you have a leak in your
system. If an unoccupied
home/cabin is found to have a significant leak, the Board of Directors will
turn off the water, “lock out” the meter, and may levy a substantial fine
on the owner. Any fine that is
levied will have to be paid before the water is turned back on.
If you need Board
assistance in turning you water back on (definitely required in case of a “lock
out”), please note the following:
(1) a Board member may not always be available on the day you
prefer; (2) you should contact a Board member at least one day in advance;
(3) a Board member will only provide assistance during daylight hours; (4)
a Board member will not turn on water unless a resident is present; (5) the
water will again be shut off if significant leaks are found.
You should familiarize
yourself with the Rules and Regulations
and stay in compliance with them.
Your annual dues and
assessments should be paid by the due date (June 1) to avoid a late
fee.
